Biscuits can come out dry and brittle so easily, and I’ve got to hand it to the folks at Biscuit Bitch for being able to keep them airy and moist. Like before, the biscuit was soft and fluffy. After I’d picked them off, I got to work. I admit I was a little disappointed to get several jalapenos with the stems still on (you can see them pictured)–“if you can’t eat it, it shouldn’t be on the plate” is definitely a philosophy I subscribe to wholeheartedly. I decided to try out their drinks again too, so I ordered their Dirty Pumpkin, a spicy chai and pumpkin pie with two shots of espresso. It’s described as a biscuit and gravy smothered in cheese and topped with a grilled Louisiana hot link and jalapenos, and comes with a pricetag of $9.60. And after ALLLLLLL of that, the biscuit sandwich was not even that great.Last month, I decided Biscuit Bitch triumphed over Honest Biscuits in the biscuit sandwich market in Seattle. But I spent it standing on a sidewalk waiting because they can’t figure out what every other restaurant has, to provide a pick-up time to customers. I waited an hour for my food, an hour I could have spent exploring the city, shopping, or visiting a museum. I learned then that the wait is long mainly because the staff is slow, not because the place is that popular. I watched the workers move with no urgency preparing food. I don’t know why I chose to stay (I should have left then) but my love of biscuits made me stay. I asked the person working the front counter and they said it would be another hour for my food. I ordered, got in the shower, got dressed, grabbed an uber, arrived at the store and there is a 2 ½ hour wait. I ordered breakfast about 45 minutes before we planned on being there (I figured that was plenty of time). Will it be cold because it’s been sitting there for an hour? Maybe, maybe not.
